Labrador Retrievers DO NOT make good sled dogs

We had the best time playing in the snow on Sunday. Here is a photo synopsis of our day.
Miss S quickly figured out how to make snow angels. She would drop into the snow anywhere, flap those arms and legs then jump up quite proud of herself.
The Misses watched Daddy closely so that thay could learn how to make snowballs for the dog. Our furry friend, Cali, LOVED chasing the snowballs. She was a bit confused when they fell apart in her mouth though. By the end of the day, she had figured out to gently pick up the more packed snowballs and bring them back to be thorwn again. And I wonder about her intelligence some days.
Here are Daddy and all 3 of his girls. They were making the base of our snowman.
Miss S got into the snowman making act by the time we needed the head. She did an excellent job rolling the big snowball.
The Misses with our "Bon Homme de Niege." Miss M decided that we couldn't leave him dresses though. She was worried that the scarf an hat would be ruined.
Here comes Miss M down the hill. She decided that she preferred sledding on her belly.
Miss S liked to be a little more upright. It only took her one or two runs to figure out how to drag the sled up the hill, get it turned around, and get herself going all by herself.
The happy snow dog who refused to look at the camera.
The snow in the vineyard behind our house. We took the girls up here to do soem sledding. We had a longer run, and were able to get a little more speed. I had a blast, but the Misses seemed to prefer our yard.
On the way back down the hill, Daddy thought he'd let the dog pull him home. He settled Miss S in the sled and squeezed in himself. He told the dog to go, and she did, but not in a straight line, and not very quickly. She was more interested in burying her nose in the snow than in pulling her master. I tried to help by calling her to come. She trotted a bit then got caught by a sniff. Daddy gave up. A sled dog she is not.
Now, for a really lame joke:
How does a Southern girl learn how to drive in the snow in France?
She follows the snowplows!

This looked like so much fun! It reminds me of growing up in NY with all our snow and now I don't have any. I'm really glad your girls are getting this experience!
