How do you end an almost perfect Saturday?

With a nice grilled steak, a simple salad, some fresh bread and a good bottle of wine.

Now, what made it such a great day? It started with a gorgeous, clear sky and sunshine. The girls woke up in pretty good moods, and ate breakfast without complaint. It only got better. We spent the morning outside working in the yard. The girls helped Daddy plant some tomato and pepper seeds, and Miss S helped me weed the garden.

After lunch we headed to the plateau behind our house to fly our new kite. Miss S was disappointed that the kite didn't stay aloft but we had a good time anyway. Miss M built something out of volcanic rocks, and we got to watch some guys do some pretty incredible things with BIG kites and skateboard-looking contraptions. All with the sun shining down on us. Cool, huh?

We followed this with a nice Sunday. The morning started slow and relaxing. After lunch, we tried hiking from our house up to the plateau where we like to go kite-flying. We didn't make it because it is MUCH farther than I thought, but we did get to see some pretty horses. That is always a bonus.

All-in-all, a nice weekend.
