Better Late than Never

We had a great trip over to the US. I might even go so far as to say that it was the best series of flights I have ever had. We were all packed so it was a relaxing, almost boring day on Monday, then an easy start on Tuesday. The flights were all running pretty much on time, the airports were not crowded, and none of our bags got lost. I really cannot complain. Maybe God was compensating for our messed up Monday.

The week at Camp has been pretty good so far. We spent Wednesday getting our boat back in the water after two years of storage. Daddy got to take the girls and Grandma on a boat ride in the afternoon which made 2 little girls VERY happy. They were briefly disappointed when the Grands' dog had to stay in the cottage, but they got over it.

Daddy took Miss M and Papa sailing on Thursday morning, then we all headed to the Cabot Creamery and Dog Mountain. Both were interesting stops. The cheese factory is a favorite simply because Cabot cheese is the best next to some select French cheeses, in my opinion anyway. Dog Mountain was a requested stop for the Misses. The author who created Dog Mountain is a favorite of theirs, and the girls were hoping to meet Sally, the main character in his children's books.

Friday gave us some nice sailing weather. Daddy got to spend some quality time with each of the girls by taking each one sailing - Miss S in the morning, and Miss M in the afternoon. I think that was the highlight of the entire day.

Today has been cooler, but that has not stopped the skiers in the family. Daddy launched the Whaler and did a round of skiing for the cousins next door. He even got to ski a bit himself. He is now a happy camper - sailing with his girls and a round of skiing. Life is good.

Tonight we are having a family dinner. Daddy and I made 3 pans of manicotti, Auntie M is bringing a salad, Tia M and Tio T are handling the hors d'oeurvres, and Cousin C is bringing some awesome desserts. Oh, and there are 3 bottles of a hearty French red to share. All with a view of the lake. Life really is good.

Glad you had a nice trip over. It sounds like you are having a great time so far. The Cabot creamery sounds like it will go on my places to see and do. It is hot down here (103 heat index at 6pm) so we are being pretty lazy.

Sounds like you are having a great visit! I am so happy for that! I would love to be on a lake right now. Are Miss S and Miss M just loving being around all their family and cousins?
